Ich freue mich.I'm pleased.أنا مسرور.

After verbs and prepositions with the accusative: für mich, ohne mich.

After dative verbs and prepositions: mit mir, bei mir.

For friends, family, children and people your age. Accusative dich, dative dir.

Das Geschenk ist für dich.The present is for you.الهدية لك.

Er kommt aus Spanien.He comes from Spain.هو من إسبانيا.

Wo ist der Schlüssel? – Er liegt auf dem Tisch.Where's the key? – It's on the table.أين المفتاح؟ – هو على الطاولة.

Er ist mein Bruder.He's my brother.هو أخي.

er also means “it” for every masculine noun: der Tisch → er.

sie is also “it” for feminine nouns. The dative is ihr.

Ich helfe ihr beim Umzug.I'm helping her move.أساعدها في الانتقال.

ihr has three jobs: “to her”, “her” (possessive), and “you” (plural).

Das Kind ist müde. Es schläft.The child is tired. It's asleep.الطفل متعب. إنه نائم.

In use

For neuter nouns, and as an empty subject: es regnet, es gibt, es geht.

The plural of du. Accusative and dative: euch.

Ich zeige euch die Stadt.I'll show you round the city.سأريكم المدينة.

Wie geht es euch?How are you all?كيف حالكم؟

Meine Eltern? Sie wohnen in Kairo.My parents? They live in Cairo.والداي؟ يسكنان في القاهرة.

Die Schuhe sind schön, aber sie sind teuer.The shoes are nice, but they're expensive.الحذاء جميل لكنه غالٍ.

Ich rufe sie heute an.I'll call them today.سأتصل بهم اليوم.

The dative is ihnen. With the verb you can tell sie (they) from sie (she): sie wohnen / sie wohnt.

Ich helfe ihnen gern.I'm happy to help them.أساعدهم بكل سرور.

Ich schreibe ihnen eine Karte.I'm writing them a card.أكتب لهم بطاقة.

With a capital, Ihnen is the polite “you”.
